THIRD HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN PENINSULAR MALAYSIA
Mount Yong Belar (Bahasa Malaysia: Gunung Yong Belar) is located on the border of the states of Kelantan and Perak, along the Titiwangsa Mountains (Bahasa Malaysia: Banjaran Titiwangsa) of Malaysia, where the mountain range begins from Southern Thailand Sankalakhiri Range.
The summit is recorded at 2,181 meters (7,156 ft) above sea level making it the highest peak in the state of Kelantan, and the third highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia.

The trail to the summit of Mount Yong Belar begins from Yong Belar Park at 1,455 meters that stretches more than 10km of ascends and descends. You will experience the Dipterocarp and Montane Forest at the start, while progressing into Montane-Ericaceous Forest closer to the summit of Mount Yong Belar. It is also the home to the Malayan Tigers.
It is important to take note that most Malaysian mountains along the Titiwangsa Mountains are generally covered in peat soil along the trails. At times, you might find yourself trekking through knee deep peats.
